Joey Silvero, under his Distant People disguise, continues to grace us with top-notch soulful house music having timeless written all over, with his latest project "Get way" being a collaboration with South African songstress Mpho. The summery "Get away" is sheer musical bliss, fusing Mpho's unrivaled deeply rooted vocals with glamorous keys and relentlessly pulsating rhythms. The 'Deep Classic Mix' gives the song an inspiring old school flavored deepened feel, not to forget to mention the mind-blowing truly eclectic selection of soul infused remixes from the likes of D General, MinoCafe, Seb Skalski, Monodeluxe and Tracebeatz & Bob all adding their distinctive touch, making it next to impossible to pick a favorite version.

Tony Records let loose yet another standout cut from their paramount "Miami Uncuts 2016" compilation: the enthralling "Sumthin' good" by Sol Brown which uses an infectiously groovin' backdrop as playground for illustrious keys and Sacha Williamson's inimitable haunting vocals. Last week we reviewed the original version of "Know thy self" by VNICVM, a laidback afro deep track fusing gentle yet intriguing rhythms with sublime keys, ethereal chords and a beautiful spoken word poem by Kamau Abayomi. Yoruba Records grace us with this masterly crafted interpretation of "Celebration of oggun" by Sunlightsquare (aka Claudio Passavanti). Based on a traditional Yoruba chant performed by Havana's Abbilona, Sunlightsquare takes the original and gives it a modern truly inspiring deep house touch. The latest installment in the critically acclaimed "House Masters" series welcomes Todd Terry to the illustrious list of pioneering and innovative house music artists (previously featured in the series were Masters at Work, Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, Joey Negro and Heller & Farley to name just a few). This retrospective features early underground tracks such as "A day in the life", "Can you party", "Weekend" and "Bango (to the batmobile)", his classic freestyle cuts "Alright alright" and "Dum dum cry" released under the Masters at Work name which was later brought to stardom by Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzales, some of his most famous remixes such as "Missing" by Everything but the Girl or "I'm gonna get you" by Bizarre Inc., global crossover anthems such as "Keep on jumpin'" and "Something goin' on", classic cuts released under different aliases such as Gypsymen, House of Gypsies and Hardhouse, a selection of his more recent work, and much more.
