Mvelo "No words" (New Life Records Promo)

Out now through New Life Records is the phantasmagorical "No words" produced by Nicholas 'Slotta' Dlamini and performed  in grand style by South African songstress Mvelo. To make a long story short short, the formidable emotive vocals of Mvelo together with the lush keys, tantalizing chord progressions and the smooth yet compelling organic musical backing are sure to cast a spell on you...

MicFreak & Angelica de No "Angel" (Remixed) (QU3 Promo)

In December of last year, QU3 gave us the superb DJ Spen & Michele Chiavarini re-edit of the MicFreak produced "Angel" by New York City songstress Angelica de No, now track returns is splendid remixes. On remix duty are New Jersey's  DJ Beloved & Matt Knight, New York's DJ Gomi, Baltimore's Sync Mafia and UK artist Lee Buxton all adding their signature to give you plenty of choices to work the floor.

Deep House Pick: Andy Compton & The Rurals "The Deeper Side Vol. 2" (Peng Music Promo)

Last summer, Andy Compton & The Rurals dropped the downright fantastic "The Deeper Side" compilation loaded with not less than twelve tracks that never made it to the album as they were considered a touch too deep. Soon the second volume in the series will be released, featuring another twelve tracks so deep they didn't make it to the albums, truth be told, this compilation oozing with nothing but unadulterated deep house vibes is not to be missed....

Classic Pick: Tammy Banks ‎"My life" (Bottom Line Records 12, 1991)

Let us take you back in time to the early 1990's when many independent labels ruled house music, one of them being Bottom Line Records. The labels catalogue features countless classics, one of them being the fantastic garage house track 'Ed The Red' Goltsman, Nancy Kay Goltsman and Nelson 'Paradise' Roman produced "My life" by Tammy Banks released in 1991. A true favorite of mine....

Classic Pick: Camille "My love will set you free" (Martru Records 12", 1992)

Here we have another trip down memory lane... Back in 1992, I heard this cool garage house track on a Tony Humphries mixshow and remember walking into my local record shop in Zurich the next day to inquire who the artist. Eventually, we found it was the Wilson & Grant produced "My love will set you free" by Camille released on Martru Records (a sub-label of MicMac Records). Another true favorite of mine...

Classic Pick: Cynthia "Change on me" (MicMac Records 12", 1988)

While on the topic of MicMac Records, this release by Cynthia (Cindy Torres) entitled "Change on me" (produced by Elvin Molina and Mickey Garcia) released in 1988 is another favorite of mine. Not necessarily for the freestyle version featured on the a-side, but for the house versions featured on the flip side which I always found to be an interesting blend of freestyle with house.
