With "Afriki Remixed", Greek DJ/producer Manousos (Manoli Manousakis) presents something out of the ordinary that is truly outstanding. The project consists of nine expertly crafted four-to-the-floor re-imaginations of original music from famous African artists such as Mamou Sidible, Sekouba Bambino, Bonga, Nabintou Diakite, Souley Kante, Issa Bagayogo, Nahawa Doumbia and Salif Keita, with each of these wonderful afrocentric interpretations staying true and respectful to the spirit and vibe of the original, letting the original ethnic instrumentation and vocals shine.
