After blessing us with his slammin' remixes for Beverly Knight, Bluey Robinson and Groove Junkies, Dave Doyle takes on "Baby it's you" by legendary UK soul singer Kenny Thomas (lifted from his current long player "Breathe") and delivers an uplifting four-to-the-floor interpretation built around a stompin' funk soaked backdrop, cool guitar, jazzy keys and classic strings, not to forget to mention Kenny Thomas' unmistakable vocals. Jam packed floors guaranteed.

Vick Lavender "Glass houses" (Sophisticado Records CD Promo)

"Glass houses" is the latest chapter in the never ending saga of musical gems from Vick Lavender and his unrivaled Sophisticado label. "Glass houses" is a masterly production oozing with the vintage soul/jazz/funk inspired and infused sound and incomparable musicianship both Vick Lavender and his Sophisticado family are famous for, featuring stellar keys by Vijay Tellis-Nayak. Two versions to choose from, with the 'V.L.E Mix' being all about the keys while the 'Guitar Mix' introduces an exquisite guitar by Isaiah Sharkey.

Dawn Williams & Mike LaBirt "Welcome to my world" (New Generation Records CD Promo)

The original version of "Welcome to my world" was released earlier this year on "The Mike LaBirt Project" album, now this Mike LaBirt production featuring passionate vocals by Dawn Williams gets a welcome full single release. Larry LaBirt and Petros Mitolis turn the heat up on their fiercely stormin' remixes laced with wicked synth melodies, while Ricci Melillo relaxes the vibe on his melodious deeper than deep rework. Finally, the are an uber cool deeply groovin' remix and deep laidback version by Petros Mitolis included.

Steven Stone & Nicole Mitchell "No lies" (Soul Deluxe Records CD Promo)

In mid October of this year, Soul Deluxe blessed us with the "Swiss Soul EP" by Steven Stone and songstress Nicole Mitchell, now they let us enjoy superb remixes of one of the three songs, to be specific "No lies". First up we have Danny Clark who delivers a stirring workout featuring grand keys and horns over a contaminous backing. Next are Matt Early & Robert Rivera serving a beautifully orchestrated classic interpretation which has timeless written all over it, and last but not least we have Rob Hayes' feel good remix which is the choice for prime time play.

Avi Elman & Danny J featuring Lifford "Give 'n take" (soWHAT Records CD Promo)

Back in 2009, Avi Elman and Danny J joined force with Artful Dodger vocalist Lifford Shillingford for the now classic "Don't U wanna", now the three reunite to bring us the wonderful "Give 'n take", an uplifting production featuring a deeply felt vocal performance by the inimitable Lifford Shillingford and glorious keys and chords over a spell binding funktified backdrop. The mesmerizing 'UPZ Deep Mix' by Avi Elman is a deep somewhat dark rendition perfect for late night / early morning play.

Antonio Eudi featuring D'Queen "Your smile" (Aquatique Records CD Promo)

Brazil's Antonio Eudi and D'Queen team up to present "Your smile", a feel good production featuring heartfelt vocals by D'Queen and catchy piano hooks over a stompin' funk soaked backing. The remixes are courtesy of Cesar Funck, Carlos Varga and Rafael Yapudjian, each of them adding his distinctive touch to the song, always keeping the vibe groovey and soulful - we have to admit we are having a hard time picking a favorite out of these...

For a track to get featured here on Spirit of House it must be something truly special, and without a doubt this is the case with "Mambito" by Jonathan Meyer. "Mambito" is a simple yet very effective track that will instantly catch you with its hypnotizing rhythms and killer organ solo, and the six varied versions included in the package give you plenty of choices to work the floor, and it will work in any type of set.
