The "Sunset EP" by Angelo Draetta includes two equally great productions, both featuring the beautiful haunting vocals of Alessandra Valenzano. Afro Deep Pick: SoulPoizen & Soule Villain "Gifted" (Herbs & Soul Music CD Promo)
South Africa's Nkosingiphile 'SoulPoizen' Ngiba and Sakhile 'Soule Villain' Ntombela grace us with an EP loaded with nothing but the best in unadulterated afro-deepness. First up is the title track "Gifted" spreading a hypnotizing feel through enchanting atmospheric synths and relentless afrotastic rhythms. Next is the spiritual "Underground politix" featuring gorgeous flute by Sonwabile 'Sobz' Gxabana and heavenly melodies over gentle afro-percussive rhythms. Lats but not least, there is "Herbal gathering" an arresting afro-tribal monster laced with phat synths that is raw and downright exhilarating.
Traxx Pick #1: Randomized Coffee "Agboho" (Sunclock Records CD Promo)
Randomized Coffee aka Massimiliano Troiani and Tommaso Checchi present "Agboho", an ingenious production oozing with a very unique and multi-influenced sound. The latin inspired summery original version features sweet guitars, classy trumpet and illustrious keys over an infectious funktified percussive backdrop.
