It is our pleasure to introduce you to the very first release on BeYourself Recordings courtesy of Crossroads, the duo of Alex De Ponti and Paolo Rey, and songstress Deborah Falanga. The magnificent "Sunday afternoon" is sheer musical bliss, combining Deborah Falanga's inimitable heartfelt vocals with sublime keys and a warm funk soaked backing - in other words, classic house at its best. Soulpersona drops the tempo on his gorgeous interpretation, giving the song a timeless r&b feel. By no means to be missed.
Yoyohoney "Yoyo" /"Groove on" (Black Sugar Music CD Promo)
Yoyohoney (formed by Mani Shoniwa) had great success in 1991-1992 with their album "Voodoo Soul" and the singles "Groove on" and "Don't come to love" thanks to remixes from Paul Oakenfold, DJ Pierre and Tony Humphries. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the album was remixed, remastered and re-released in November last year through Black Sugar Music. Now we can enjoy this stunning package featuring both an uber cool, laidback jazz/funk inspired mid-tempo version and a classy deep house rendition of "Yoyo", as well as two equally massive soulful club mixes of "Groove on" by Mani Shoniwa. And as a bonus, the classic DJ Pierre and Paul Oakenfold mixes of "Groove on" are included as well.
