Lemon & Herb featuring Moonchild "Velani" (Remixes)(Ocha Records CD Promo)

Back in late 2011, Ocha Records blessed us with Lemon & Herb's masterpiece "Velani", an ingenious slice of afro deepness featuring grandiose refreshing vocals by Moonchild alongside luscious melodies over thrilling rhythms. Now the label gives us a phenomenal remix package which takes this timeless gem to all new heights. From Lemon & Herb's own utterly soulful interpretation to EnaWadan, Casamena and JazzMattik's chameleonic deep hypnotizing re-imaginations, this is sheer musical bliss. By no means to be missed by any lover of soulful deep house.

Ladybird "Shine" (Remixes)(Peng Records CD Promo)

Last year in February, Ladybird's self titled highly acclaimed debut long player was released through Peng Records, now one the timeless songs from the album returns in fresh interpretations - and what a musical treat it is... William 'Pete Dow' Cataldo and Andrea 'Sus4th' Mongini join forces to impress us with an exquisite rendition featuring delectable keys over a deeply groovin' backdrop, label head Andy Compton contributes a wonderful laidback version oozing with nothing but soul, Kai 'KZR' Alce delivers a mesmerizing Detroit-esque dub, and last but not least there is Aldo 'Haldo' Carpanzano's deep melodious rework laced with heavenly melodies.

Camille Veronica "Loverwants" (CyberJamz Records CD Promo)

There ain't not stoppin' for CyberJamz Records as they unleash another deep soulful dance floor bomb titled "Loverwants" featuring inspirational lyrics performed by Camille Veronica. The likes of Cm2 (Bonolo Mohapi), Tayo Wink, Tribe Franko, DJ Punch & Flip Entertainment, Soul-Cat (SammyRock & DJ Housecat) and Maminstrumental (Mr. Mama) work the spoken word poetry of Camille Veronica to perfection, all adding their one-of-a-kind deep infectious yet soulful touch to the track. The result is a truly versatile package giving you plenty of options to work the floor.

C-Major (SA) "Another level" (Atal Music CD Promo)

Atal Music continue to bring us nothing but the best in South African house music, with their latest offering being the wonderful "Another level" by C-Major (SA) (aka Nqobile Ntlabathi, Phiwokuhle Madondo, Ndlelenhle Jiyane and Phindile Shoba) which features the unmistakable emotive vocals of Faye Wonder together with heavenly synth melodies over deep mesmerizing rhythms. On remix duty are Room 806, Sacred Soul and Ocean Deep all adding their distinctive deep utterly soulful touch, making next to impossible to choose a favorite version.

Fabio Tosti & K-Max featuring Francesca Maria "Like rain" (Transport Recordings CD Promo)

Italian DJ/producer Fabio Tosti returns to Transport Recordings with the gorgeously deep and melodious "Like rain", a collaboration with keyboardist K-Max and songstress Francesca Maria. "Like rain" is a delightful late night gem spreading an enchanting feel through Francesca Maria's sultry vocals, dramatic strings and evocative jazzy piano, all perfectly arranged over utterly infectious percussive rhythms. The 'Under Dub' mixes further intensify the vibe, with a relentlessly pulsating' funked-up backdrop leading the way for celestial synth melodies.

Yoliswa "Nowhere" (Soundtrack Recordings CD Promo)

The latest release for South African songstress Yoliswa is "Nowhere", an energetic four-to-the-floor anthem showcasing here inimitable heartfelt vocals. First up we have Phil Marwood whose hypnotizing take combines the vocals with grandiose strings, dulcet melodies and deep driving rhythms. Next is Lars Behrenroth who deepens the vibe, giving the track a dreamy laidback feel through celestial atmospheric melodies and smoothly thumpin' rhythms. Finally, South Africa's Lilac Jeans rework the song into an utterly soulful percussive affair oozing with ethereal melodies.

Romel Saunders featuring Kayla Dawn "I want you back" (Smooth Agent Records CD Promo)

What an amazing soulful gem we have here... "I want you back" by the late Romel Saunders (r.i.p) has timeless written all over, with an organic funk drenched backing leading the way for deeply rooted vocals by Kayla Dawn and lush keys by DJ Quad (aka Mr. Darren Brandon) - sheer musical bliss. Besides the main vocal version the package includes a wonderful 'Acapella Reprise', various slammin' dub mixes guaranteed to cause a stir on the floor, as well as a remixes by Jonna Montana who injects his beloved organic jazz drenched sound, and Tim McAlister who takes the track to deeper grounds on his marvelous interpretation laced with illustrious keys.

Junior White & Noelle "Can't stop" (SoulShine Records CD Promo)

Back in July 2011, we exclusively reviewed this beauty by Junior White and songstress Noelle, now finally the time has come for this precious soulful gem to get a proper release through Louis Benedetti's SoulShine Records label. "Can't stop" is an uplifting production built around a spell binding funk soaked backdrop, deeply felt vocals by Noelle and glorious warm keys, altogether spreading an intoxicating feel good vibe. Next we have the brand new 'Club Mix' which is a sure-fire prime time weapon thanks to irresistibly stormin' rhythms and inebriant synth melodies. But this is not all as there is also a wicked selection of dub mixes (one by label head Louis Benedetti) sure to set the floor on fire.

Best of the Rest

We are getting so many promos sent each and every week that many of them never get reviewed here on Spirit of House (for various reasons nota bene). However, as we want to make sure you are well informed what is happening, we have introduced this section to highlight other noteworthy releases...

Fatsouls Records present their brand new "Fatsouls Vault" series, a collection of previously unreleased material. The first volume features JoVonn's instrumental remix of "Popular side" by Adeniji Heavywind, DJ Rasoul's instrumental of "No discussion" by Fuminori Kagajo featuring Adeniji Heavywind, and last but not least the deep jazz-tastic "Blow your mind" by Fuminori Kagajo (Fatsouls Records CD Promo). "Nothing can hurt you now" by Miss Luna & DJ Skatie is a beautiful sun drenched production spreading a warm uplifting feel you can't resist to dance to. Grooveboy's rendition oozes with a delectable laidback soul/funk inspired vibe, while Scott Watson (under his The Sunchasers disguise) turns the heat up on his deep'n'fierce take (Grooveboy Music CD Promo).

thatmanmonkz (Scott Moncrieff) graces us with his uber cool "Overproof EP" which features the utterly deep somewhat dark yet hypnotizing title track "Overproof", the eclectic Detroit-esque "Right on" and finally "The feeling", an ingenious slice of soulful vocal house which combines the unmistakable vocals of Pete Simpson with Scott Moncrieff's signature deep sounds (Tone Control Music CD Promo). Kerri Chandler's 1996 anthem "Hallelujah" returns in brand new stellar remixes by the likes of Demarkus Lewis, Robosonic, Mihalis Safras, J. Barnum and Supernova all adding their distinctive deep infectious touch. The original Kerri Chandler mixes complete the package (KingStreet Records CD Promo).

The "Xpanding Minds EP" by Djjoel S. is an exhilarating journey to deepest imaginable house music grounds, with each of the three featured tracks bringing back memories from the past - to cut a long story short, deep house at its best. South Africa's Cornelius gives us "The Sensation of Love", a wicked EP featuring three original tracks each oozing with luscious melodies and smooth yet contaminous rhythms. Not to forget to mention there is a killer remix by Beat Phreak included too (Anarchy Music CD Promo). From the same label comes the "In Touch EP" by South Africa's Jinks Deep who gives us two equally fantastic jazz inspired deep house tracks laced with glorious melodies (Anarchy Music CD Promo).

"Deep down love" by Tokyo's Shu-ma comes your way in two massive remixes, with Timmy Vegas version being a sure-fire peak time anthem guaranteed to set the floor on fire with pulsating' rhythms and catchy synth melodies, while Bump Kings deliver a deep'n'raw underground-esque rework (Bump Trax Records CD Promo). Deep Elementz continues his mission to bring us nothing but the best in old school infused deep house music with "The blade of steel", a mesmerizing late night gem using thrilling percussive rhythms as playground for lascivious synth melodies and grand jazzy piano (Night Scope Deep Records CD Promo).
