Last year in May, we were celebrating the beautiful "Life is not easy" by Divided Souls & Samuri and Somalian songwriter/vocalist Jama, now they present the long awaited follow up "Motherland". To cut right to the chase, "Motherland" is sheer musical bliss, using deep gentle afrocentric rhythms as playground for heavenly keys and chords, grand saxophone and Jama's enchanting vocals. Next up on Soulfuledge Recordings is "All men are created equal" by label head Soulfuledge, what you get is an exhilarating slice of dance floor goodness using an irresistibly thumpin' funked-up backdrop as playground for delectable keys and classy saxophone hooks, not to forget to mention the wicked male spoken vocals. The remix courtesy of Lotche transforms the track into an utterly mesmerizing deep house affair laced with tantalizing melodies.

Soul Deluxe Recordings kick the new year off in proper style with "The Italian Remixes EP" featuring four equally stellar remixes of some of the labels greatest successes. From Soulbridge comes a gorgeous dreamy interpretation of "You are with me" featuring the one-of-a-kind heartfelt vocals of Marc Evans, Alex Millet serves a sublime workout fueled with noble piano and celestial synths of "Temptation" featuring the unmistakable sultry vocals of Nicole Mitchell, and finally we have two fantastic remixes of "Without you" again featuring Nicole Mitchell on vocals: Guido P drops a wonderful soul/funk infused tribalesque rendition, while Deejay MiMMo is getting deep on his truly hypnotizing stripped back rework.

Peng Records truly grace us with their latest offering by Newman and songstress Ladybird entitled "Lonely EP". Three outstanding masterly orchestrated original productions of timeless broken beat soul can be found here, two of which feature Ladybird's incomparable seductive vocals. Andy Compton (The Rurals) and Admin contribute dazzling four-to-the-floor renditions of the title song "Lonely" which keep the vibe soulful and laidback yet are guaranteed to make you yearn fore more.

DJ Umbi reworks "Soon as I" while Spiritual Blessings, Zulu's At Work, DJ Leon El Ray & David Marques and Mr. Fuzz take on "Warning", to cut a long story short "Remixed" is a truly eclectic and glamorous selection of wicked new interpretations ranging from soulful over afro to deep by no means to be missed.
