Without any doubt, Shannon's groundbreaking "Let the music play" released back in 1983 is an undisputed classic as well as a critical record in the evolution of dance music. Fast forward thirty years to September 2013 and Tribe Records give us this mind-blowing remake by DJ Angelo. His tribute of this memorable dance music classic is deep'n'smooth yet full of energy, featuring tantalizing female vocals and spacy keys over deep intoxicating rhythms, altogether spreading an enchanting vibe you can't resist to dance to... Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell "Ain't nothing like the real thing" (Mustafa Motor City Tribute Mix)(CD-R)

Mustafa blesses us with a slice of soulful heaven with his sublime four-to-the-floor re-imagination of the unforgettable 1968 Motown classic "Ain't nothing like the real thing" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Smooth yet thrilling percussive rhythms lead the way for the unrivaled vocals of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and glorious keys - to cut a long story short, Mustafa's 'Motor City Tribute Mix' is sheer musical bliss...

Fuminori Kagajo "Mystic Blue EP" (SoulfulBeats CD Promo)

Japanese producer/DJ Fuminori Kagajo makes his debut on SoulfulBeats with the phenomenal "Mystic Blue EP" which includes a total of three tracks (one of them coming in two equally massive versions). Featuring guest artists Takuto Kudo (piano and keys) and Mutsumi Takeuchi (tenor sax), each of these utterly deep truly exhilarating jazz inspired productions is guaranteed to put a spell on you thanks to inexorable rhythms and fetching melodies... Nuff said.

Mr. Boogie & Creso featuring Charles Cooper "Music" (Tainted House Recordings CD Promo)

The hypnotizing "Music" is produced by Brenden Davis (Mr. Boogie) and Creso (Aviwe Fikeni) and features the one-of-a-kind vocal stylings of Charles Cooper alongside heavenly keys and chords over deeper than deep utterly spell binding afrotastic rhythms. On remix duty is Rune (Thulani Sibiya) who deepens the vibe to the max, with gentle afro-tribal rhythms leading the way for the vocals, grand jazzy keys and ethereal synth melodies.

Bhunu Brill featuring Charles Cooper "My god, my king" (USO Recordings CD Promo)

South Africa's Bhunu Brill teams up with Baltimore native Charles Cooper for "My god, my king", a dazzling deep house production soon to be released on Darian Crouse's USO Recordings. Charles Cooper's unmistakable vocal stylings together with the moody synth melodies and deeply groovin' rhythms are guaranteed to cause a stir on the floor. The remixes are courtesy of TonalCaptiv (Sisimo Seyama) and Tony Jesus who both add their distinctive deep/soulful touch, making it next to impossible to pick a favorite version.

SoulFunktion featuring Kenny Thomas "Sexy girl" (Part 1) (Check It Out Records CD Promo)

SoulFunktion (Brian 'Keys' Tharme & Wally Walton) join forces with UK Soul legend Kenny Thomas for "Sexy girl", an old school inspired production combining the inimitable seductive vocals of Kenny Thomas with luscious melodies and a fiercely bouncin' backing. The 'Deep Dub Mix' is fueled with catchy synth hooks and gives the track a deeper truly mesmerizing feel, Matt Early delivers an enthralling soul/funk infused rework, and last but not least there is a grandiose remix by Dolls Combers who take their beloved jazz infused sound to deepest grounds, with the result being simply mind-blowing... DJ Le Baron featuring Estheen "Heart of gold" (Deeptown Music CD Promo)

Deeptown Music grace us with the delightful "Heart of gold" by DJ Le Baron, a beautiful production featuring passionate vocals by songstress Estheen, sublime jazzy keys and  classy synth melodies over a gentle yet thrilling funk soaked backdrop. The 'Go Deep Mix' by DJ Le Baron & Mark Faermont is a deep melodious workout of the track perfect for late night play, and finally there is the luxurious warm organic remix by Walterino & House Device.

We are getting so many promos sent each and every week that many of them never get reviewed here on Spirit of House (for various reasons nota bene). However, as we want to make sure you are well informed what is happening, we have introduced this section where, every now and then, we will highlight other noteworthy releases...

iDP (Thomas Gregorski) gives us "Journey" and "Follow it", two ingenious tracks oozing with a seminal truly melodious contemporary deep house sound. The release comes complete with stellar remixes by Gene King and Miguel Graca (Release The Pressure CD Promo). "The bush" by Richie the DJ is a ruthlessly thumpin' affair laced with cool spoken word poetry and spaced-out synths, not to forget to mention the amazing remix by Doc Link who injects his signature funked-up sounds (Dub Kollectiv Recordings CD Promo).

Brock 'The Disco King' Landers is back with "The Bad Guy" EP which includes three tracks which bring the unforgettable sound of Disco from yesteryear back to the dance floor. Drop any of these remorseless yet at the same time silky smooth tracks and watch the dancers go crazy on the dance floor... (Modulate Goes Digital CD Promo). Genetic Rhythm (Karl Lambert & Tony Pugh) present "Generic", an energetic somewhat tough and yet melodious deep house track on a moody tip. The wicked dub relaxes the vibe and introduces lush warm pads to give the track a delectable late night feel (Get Down Grooves CD Promo).

"Be Me" by Kong Project is a truly inspiring remake of the Night Writers 1987 house music classic "Let the music you" which features dazzling vocals by songstress Sheree Hicks and dulcet melodies over deeply groovin' rhythms (Maison Records CD Promo).
