In September 2009, we were praising the phenomenal "Little W. 12th St.", an eclectic soulful yet contaminous production by Ralf GUM oozing with the inimitable vocals of Monique Bingham and a blissful jazz-funk orchestration (not to forget to mention the incredible remixes by DJ Spinna and Benny Pecoraio). Thanks to Solid Ground Recordings, this gem returns complete with massive fresh mixes by Danny Clark & Jay Benham who contribute a fabulous percussive funked drenched interpretation laced with stellar keys, Jonny Montana who adds with his signature organic jazz drenched touch, and man of the moment Sean McCabe who blesses us with another of his compelling workouts fueled with sublime keys.
DJ Roland Clark presents Urban Soul "Love is so nice" (KingStreet Records CD Promo)
The classic Roland Clark produced "Love is so nice" which features sultry vocals by Ceybil Jefferies and Troyetta Knox dates back to 1998, now we an enjoy fresh remixes by Los Angeles house maestro Will 'ReelSoul' Rodriguez who injects his beloved signature melodious sound to give the track an uplifting and infectious yet truly soulful feel. "Before you reach for love" which features vocals by Kiva was originally released in 2000 and gets a makeover by Japanese house producer Music Note who takes the track to the main floor with his energetic remixes.
BackRoomSounds featuring Al "Fallen for you" (Part 2)(Check It Out Records CD Promo)
Only two weeks ago, Swiss house music label Check It Out Records debuted with the first part of "Fallen for you" by BackRoomSounds (Sam Gibbons), an uber cool slice of Disco/Funk inspired four-to-the-floor featuring uplifting vocals by Al. Now part two loaded with slammin' remixes is here. First up, Jim Urquhart aka D.U.S.K drops a feel-good soul-funk flavored rendition, next we have Jasper 'Drexmeister' Drexhage who gives the track a deeper yet still very funky feel, and finally Nicolas Bassi impresses with his truly delightful rerub built around deeply thumpin' rhythms and melodious keys.
