Kelvin Sylvester, Nephrok! "Special kind of love" (Double Cheese Records CD Promo)

Past December, Kelvin Sylvester blessed us with the timeless soulful gem "Your smile"  (featuring Dee Lavender on vocals) released through Double Cheese Records, now he is back on the label with the follow-up single "Special kind of love". Once again, this is soulful house music at its best, featuring the amazing deeply felt vocals of Nephrok! aka Nephtaliem McCrory which are accompanied by lush keys and a vibrant relentlessly groovin' backing. The stripped back beatless 'Muted Funk Mix' is an essential DJ took, label head Luyo contributes a stunning truly resistless soul/funk infused remix, and last but not least there is Bonna's intriguing rework guaranteed to set the floor on fire.

Roy Ayers "Sugar" (The Reflex Revision)(BBE Records CD Promo)

In 2004, BBE Records released the marvelous "Virgin Ubiquity" project which is all about previously unreleased recordings from Roy Ayers from the time period of 1976 to 1981. One of the songs unearthed in this compilation is "Sugar", a smooth funk/disco jewel recorded in 1978 which features vocals from Carla Vaughan as well as Roy Ayers himself. In the same year, Joey Negro's iconic interpretations took over dance floor by storm, fast forward to 2016 and we can enjoy a super sexy and delicious re-imagination by French edit maestro The Reflex who uses only original parts of the song - the result is truly jaw-dropping...

Soulbridge & Rachael Calladine "State of mind" (HSR Records CD Promo)

September 2015 saw the release of the truly eclectic and mind-boggling "Dance Floor EP" by Soulbridge and songstress Rachael Calladine, in February of this year the title track was released as a single, now "State of mind" has been getting the remix treatment. "Andingowenu" is the first single taken from the forthcoming (as of yet untitled) album by South African Group C-Major (SA), and beyond the shadow of a doubt this fabulous production laced with the unique emotive vocals of Ntombekaya Tikolo aka Toshi, enchanting synth melodies and dulcet yet thrilling deep rhythms is guaranteed to make you yearn for more. On remix duty are Detroit legend Alton Miller who delivers an enticing deep house rework oozing with his signature sound and up-and-rising South African Diamond Dealer who serves a spacy truly hypnotizing deep workout.

Namy featuring Miwa "Follow through" (Global Diplomacy Productions CD Promo)

Global Diplomacy present the first single taken from their mind-blowing "Unity Through Sound WMC 2016" sampler released earlier this year, the expertly crafted "Follow through" by Japan's DJ/producer Namy and songstress Miwa. The original version is sheer musical bliss, featuring Miwa's unmistakable angelic vocals alongside grand piano, heavenly keys and a smooth organic backdrop. Diephuis contributes a mesmerizing soul-tech infused afro-deep workout, Q Narongwate relaxes the vibe on his gorgeous laidback rendition, Migosy and label head N'Dinga Gaba join forces for a dreamy afro-deep interpretation, and finally N'Dinga Gaba drops an exciting ethereal deep house remix.

Oscar P & Lea "Joburg" (Open Bar Music CD Promo)

DJ/producer Oscar P and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/producer Lea (Carla Leanna Yip) team up for "Joburg", a splendiferous deep house cut with deeply rumblin' absolutely relentless rhythms leading the way for tempting melodies and excerpts from an unforgettable speech by Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson from one of the memorable concerts from back in the day. Remixes included are courtesy of King P Soul, Naughty-Soul, DJ Octopuz, River City Soul Orchestra and Tonix Da Soul and cover a wide range of genres from afro deep over deep house to tech house, giving you plenty of choices to work the floor.

D.General featuring Mahume "Misconception" (Vibe Boutique Records CD Promo)

D.General is one of the alias names used by Dumisani Socatsha under which he presents his latest production "Misconception" on Vibe Boutique Records (the label previously released his "Melodica" EP under his other alias name Mino Cafe), a seductive afro-deep gem based on stimulating rhythms, luscious keys and chords, and the poetical spoken words of Mahume. The 'Mino Cafe Soul2Soul Remix' is an uber soulful interpretation introducing sublime jazzy keys and a warm smoothly stompin' backing groove.

Footsounds featuring Gemini E Porter "Lala" (Sunclock Records CD Promo)

Up and coming South African DJ/production duo Footsounds (​Thato Bokaba​ & Godfrey Mahuma) make their debut on Sunclock Records with "Lala", a grandiose slice of soulful afro house music not to be missed as deep gentle rhythms lay the foundation for precious keys and the marvelous vocals of Gemini E Porter. Jus Nativ transforms the track into an utterly mesmerizing deep atmospheric affair, FrenzyDreamz turn the heat up on their energetic mixes perfect for prime time play, and lastly Kay-9ine contributes a super soulful rendition with a more classic touch.

Lisa Foster Wilson "No one (I'm free)" (Slaag Records CD Promo)

Undoubtedly, Slaag Records have a beauty in their hands with the Glenn Thonton four-to-the-floor re-imagination of "No one (I'm free") by Lisa Foster Wilson (the original version can be found on her "God's groove" album scheduled for this coming summer). This is top-notch gospel house music, with Lisa Foster Wilson's inspirational vocal praise being accompanied by spoken words from Robert I. Roach Jr., delectable keys and an infectious ruthlessly thumpin' backdrop.
