Ever since King Street Sounds was launched almost two decades ago (to be precise in 1993), the label whose name is inspired by the legendary Paradise Garage (which had the address "King Street 84") has been a trend-setter, soon became the literal equivalent of underground New York and undoubtedly was and still is one of the driving forces in house music. Paul Nickerson & Francis Englehardt (Slow to Speak), well-respected owners of the Brooklyn based record store Dope Jams, present their definite collection of King Street Sound's monumental contributions - in short their ode to King Street is a one-of-a-kind retrospective of the history and legacy the label and it sub-labels such as NiteGrooves have created over the past two decades.
