In February 2011 we were celebrating the release of the incredible "I gave you my heart" by songstress Heather Walker, later in October 2012 this wonderful song returned with previously unreleased mixes. Fast forward to February 2014, and we can enjoy a freshly brewed package of phantasmagorical remixes from the likes of ElementSouls, Panther72, Tayo Wink and Sal Negro all adding their distinctive deep soulful touch, taking the inimitable heartfelt vocals of Heather Walker to a whole new level, making it next to impossible to pick a favorite version. The included full acapella of the song gives you endless possibilities to work the vocals to full effect.

DJ's love to have their exclusive tracks to play so it comes as no surprise that there are tons of unauthorized edits hitting Soundcloud and the like every day, some of which are available to the masses, while others are only handed to a chosen few like this exclusive selection of soulful four-to-the-floor edits of songs from Amel Larrieux, Emile Sande, Brandy, Jennifer Hudson, Blue Velvet Soul and Emile Sande put together by RedSoul and Jacko in support of Tony Humphries and Jacko's recent European tour. Italy's Alex Millet joins forces with LaVeda Davis for "I second guess myself", a gorgeous production featuring LaVeda Davis incomparable sultry vocals and warm melodious keys over a smoothly bumpin' organic backing, altogether spreading a feel good vibe you can't resist to dance to. The energetically stompin' 'SoulB Mix' introduces classy strings and grand jazzy piano, while Guido P gives the track a somewhat deeper feel, with the vocals being accompanied by sumptuous keys.

Originally featured on the labels "WMC Miami Sampler 2013", Gotta Keep Faith Records finally bring us the full single release of "Morning light" by French trio Mind Street (Jess, Stif & Baby Duke) and singer Jalley. The energetic truly uplifting "Morning light" features Jalley's inimitable charismatic vocals alongside glorious keys and chords over fiercely stompin' funked-up rhythms - jam-packed floors guaranteed. It is time again to bring you our choice selection of edits and (bootleg) remixes we got in the past few days and weeks... First up we have Mustafa who blesses us with his sun drenched Latin flavored four-to-the-floor re-imagination of De La Soul's 2000 classic "All good" which features the one and only Chaka Khan on guest vocals. Next we have the second installment of a new series of edit packages coming from Zepherin Saint. This time he gives us mind-boggling 4/4 reworkings of "Breaking the law" by Emile Sande and "Just one glance" by Nicholas Jaar. Finally we have Manoli Manousakis summery sweet'n'percussive 4/4 rendition of Julie Dexter's beautiful "Like ours" which is truly breathtaking...
Best of the Rest
We are getting so many promos sent each and every week that many of them never get reviewed here on Spirit of House (for various reasons nota bene). However, as we want to make sure you are well informed what is happening, we have introduced this section where, every now and then, we will highlight other noteworthy releases...
The "Jazid EP" by Marc Cotterell is not to be missed by any lover of jazz infused deep house music. The two featured tracks "Jazid" and "These tings" combine deep gentle rhythms with superb jazzy keys, not to forget to mention the stellar remixes by Bradford James perfect for late nigh play (Plastik People Digital CD Promo). The late night deepness continues with "Bright & bubbly" by Chicago's DJ Dclown, a wicked three track EP featuring the jazzed-up tribal-esque title track, the moody tribal-esque "A journey" and finally the trippy kinda leftfield "22 mix" laced with erotic moans (Smooth Agent Tracks CD Promo).
We continue our excursion to the deep with the magnificent "The Journey Continues" EP by TekniQ. "Journey across the ocean" and "Memories of you" are masterly crafted late night gems, with deep gentle rhythms leading the way for glamorous truly heavenly melodies, while "Sum Funk in Jazz" is a luxurious Jazz/Funk infused broken beat flavored gem (Cabana Recordings CD Promo). Next we have some serious afro-deepness coming your way courtesy of South African producer JayTee and his "Invasion EP". Both the title track and "Cloudy music" combine contaminous tribal-esque rhythms with entrancing atmospheric melodies, while "Kiba tja bapedi" is pure and raw afro-tribal madness (Smooth Agent Africa CD Promo).
Closing this weeks update is "The Emerald Cities Project" by John Heckle & Malcolm Moore which will take you back in time with its reminiscence to the early days of house music. To cut a long story short, the two tracks featured on this release ("Emerald 66" by John Heckle and "Way of the city" by Malcolm Moore) are sheer musical bliss, this is top-notch deep house music with an old school twist guaranteed to make you yearn for more.
